Adventures in Cooking: Bacon Tomato Swiss Cups
Since Fall is finally upon us, and that means FOOTBALL is back (!!!), I thought I would share some of my favorite game-watching snacks. GO STEELERS!!
First, Bacon Tomato Swiss Cups. My Mom used to make these all the time for parties, and I brought them back last fall. They're relatively easy to make, and always a crowd pleaser!
First, your ingredients:
- 8 slices of bacon (more or less depending on your love of bacon)
- 1/4- 1/2 cup of light mayo (enough to bind the mixture)
- 1 whole tomato
- Basil (I sprinkle it liberally)
- 8 ounces swiss cheese
- 1 package Crescent rolls
- Pam non-stick spray
- Muffin tin
Dice the tomato into small little squares, and remove the seeds (prevents soggy dough)
Fry your bacon till extra crispy.
Dry the bacon in a paper towel and then rip into small pieces. I usually put the bacon into new paper towel then wad it up into a ball so they fall into smaller pieces then rip the remaining lager pieces by hand.
Shred your cheese, (or if you bought already shredded swiss) and combine into a bowl with the mayo.
Mix until all of the components are combined. I usually sprinkle some basil in at this point, too.
Pre-heat oven to 375. Spray your muffin tin with non-stick spray. Take your credent rolls and tear them into smaller pieces, and mold then into the bottom of the tins.
Now, scoop the mixture into the tins, about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way full. (Oliver decided he needed to watch me and make sure I was doing it right).
Sprinkle more basil on top of the individual cups, and then it's ready to go into the oven!
Bake at 375 for about 15-20 minutes, or until the sides are golden brown. Keep checking them, as the dough can take longer to cook. Let sit for 10 minutes to cool.
TA DA! The final product! Enjoy!

Friday Funday: Bourgeois Shangri-La!
Is it just me, or has this week taken FOREVER?? I am looking forward to a weekend of relaxation and organizing/cleaning the house.
To kick it off on the right note, I am LOVING this song from the new iPod Nano commercials. The singer is a Swedish gal called Miss Li (Linda Carlsson). Here is her MySpace. The song is called "Bourgeois Shangri-La."
Happy Friday!

My latest damage
I've been on a shopping kick lately, and with the Holidays quickly approaching I've decided a shopping ban is much needed.
Here are my recent purchases:
Old Navy Diva Skinny Jeans. Never thought I'd actually LIKE a pair of skinny jeans let alone wear them. These are actually really comfortable and flattering. And they were only $19! I had to, really.
Crisp Wings Blouse from Anthropologie. I have been stalking this top for ages, and it finally went on sale! I snagged it for $39, and now it's unavailable. Phew!
I also picked up the Idyll Respite Necklace from Anthro, it's a great piece to jazz up a simple outfit. I wore it today with the Odette V Neck I reviewed yesterday.
Chanel Jade nail polish. It's Chanel, it's nail polish, and it's green. Need I say more?

Review: Anthropologie's Odette V-Neck
I ordered the Odette V-Neck a while back after reading the reviews on Anthropologie. Everyone raved about the comfort and fit, but a lot of people recommended sizing down. So, I did. Aaaand maybe I shouldn't have. It's a bit boxy, and I feel as if I'm constantly pulling it down. It's INCREDIBLY soft and light, and a cami underneath is a necessity. I ordered a Medium, and I think a Large would have been perfect. Alas, this top went on sale for $9.99 and I tried to order the navy but it was unavailable almost immediately.
I remedied this with a longer slim fit cami (Forever 21).

Emmys Best Dressed
Christina Hendricks can do no wrong. She knows how to showcase those curves. Love.
I absolutely LOVE this dress on Mila Kunis. The color, the shape, it's so gorgeous. She took a risk and it paid off.
Rose Byrne's dress is stunning. Modern Cinderella.
Ginnifer Goodwin's dress is lovely. I'm a sucker for magenta and statement necklaces.
Leighton never disappoints. I love that her lipstick matches her clutch.
I've never been much of a fashion fan of Chloe Sevigny, but this dress is beautiful. I love the yellow slip underneath, and the brooch. Perfection.

Hey Old Navy, how YOU doin'?
As I was doing my usual online browsing, I came across the New Arrivals @ OldNavy.com and I was shocked by how cute AND chic everything is! Good on ya, Old Navy.
Here are my favorites:
Gauze top, $19.99
Sliver Wedge Boots $39.99
I am IN LOVE with this jacket! It would look so chic with the boots and dark skinny jeans! But the $69 price tag, I do not love. Being Old Navy, I'm sure it will go on sale soon, though.
Love a good wrap dress! Belted, with tights and boots = easy uniform. $29
