Friday Funday: All I Want for Christmas is You

This song is among my top 5 all-time favorite Christmas songs!

Tonight is my work Christmas party, but they're calling for a crazy snow storm starting at noon and the entire city is preparing to shut down, so we'll see about that!

Happy Friday! :)

I made the Oreo Truffles for a Holiday party last night, and they were a hit! I dipped them in white and milk chocolate, and then sprinkled more crushed Oreos on top. Yum!

Oreo Truffles (!!)

This amazing recipe comes from the adorable Jordan of NonSociety:

OREO TRUFFLES

What you need:

1 package Oreo cookies, finely crushed

1 8 oz package cream cheese (no reduced fat stuff, please…we’re talking truffles here)

2 packages (8 squares each) semi-sweet chocolate, melted (in the microwave is easiest)

What you do:

1. Mix 3 cups of the cookie crumbs with the cream cheese until well-blended.

2. Shape cookie/cream cheese mixture into 42 1” balls.

3. Dip balls in melted chocolate (use two forks and sort of roll them around until evenly coated; allow excess to drip off) and place on wax paper.

4. Sprinkle over remaining cookie crumbs and refrigerate at least one hour before serving. Store in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator.

Other decorating ideas: Adorn your truffles with sprinkles, colored sugar, or even edible glitter.

I plan to make these for a Holiday Party this weekend! Mmmmmm...

Christmas Is All Around

Love Actually is one of my top ten favorites of all time, and I easily watch it a dozen times until Christmas. :)

Recapping Thanksgiving

(Little Sister, Little Brother, and Me on Turkey Day
)

Here is a belated review of the fun I had while home in Pittburgh for Thanksgiving.

-- We made the 8.5 hour drive home Wednesday morning, and it was relatively uneventful aside from a traffic cluster in Virginia that pushed us back 45 minutes. Otherwise, easy drive home!

-- Wednesday night was the annual "see everyone you went to High School with at the local bar" night. Had a great time!

-- Thanksgiving! Ate my face off at the boy's family feast, then we ate another meal about 4 hours later at my Mom's.

-- Black Friday I slept in, and then did a bit of online shopping. There were no deals good enough for me to brave the crowds, nooo thank you. Friday Night we had a Black Friday party at a friend's house, complete with RockBand, Buzz Quiz and great friends. :)

-- Little Sister turned the big 2-1 on the 28th!! So we went out in Pittsburgh. We hit up the new Casino so everyone could "practice" for Vegas next month ;) We then hit up the bars until closing time, and I quickly came to the realization that I am waaaay too old for that scene!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now it just needs to SNOW here in Raleigh! :)

I am obsessed with this song, the lyrics are amazing, especially the Anna Wintour name drop. Love. I'll be in The City in less than 2 months for the Gaga concert! I can't wait!
